Samuel Slater Escapes to America

He started the Industrial Revolution in the US

Samuel Slater broke a Great Britain Law just last week (May 13th, 1782) and escaped to the United States.

"Great Britain made a law that no skilled mechanics or mill plans were allowed to leave the country," Samuel Slater told us, "but I didn't care. I disguised myself as a farmer and fled Great Britain." We asked why Slater why he did this. He replied, "I wanted to spread the Industrial Revolution! Great Britain has been keeping many machine related secrets from you Americans, I wanted that to end!" We owe Samuel Slater a lot of thanks!
