***** Gift Cards for Parents !!!!

Every six weeks, Clarkston will have a drawing for gift cards for PARENTS whose children have had perfect attendance that six weeks !!


The 4th six weeks is drawing to a close. Students who have perfect attendance will qualify to enter their parents' names in the drawings.


Some of our donors are Marco's Pizza, Super I, Brookshires, Grand Slam, Dairy Queen, and Smoothie King and we thank them for their generosity and their support of Clarkston Elementary School..

Black History Month

Rev. Orenthia Mason (former TISD board member) and Mrs. Yvonne Atkins (current TISD board member) were Friday's speakers for Black History Month. Each Friday this month, Clarkston will host a speaker for the fourth and fifth graders and a video of the presentation will be recorded for use by other classes. Classroom doors have been decorated to recognize Black History Month and videos have been created as well.

February continues Habit 5: Seek First to Understand - Then to be Understood

Students are learning that listening is as important as speaking. Understanding another's viewpoint is necessary to have a meaningful conversation. Once the speaker's concern is understood, the listener has an opportunity to contribute to the conversation with relevant information and genuine interest.

M A S K S - Every Day !

Clarkston students need to wear a face mask - that fits properly - every day !

School is 7:50-3:10 each day. The building opens for students at 7:15.

Morning Dropoff

Students can be dropped off beginning at 7:15 each morning. Please do not drop them off before that time because there is not an adult to supervise them.


For students who are attending morning tutorials beginning at 7:00 am, please wait until 7:00 and the teacher is present to drop them off.

Reading Initiative!


The only required homework at Clarkston is for students to read for 20 minutes and get their reading log signed. Please make sure your student is completing this task each night.

Backpack Club

Backpack Club

Your child is able to participate in the Backpack Program, offered by the East Texas Food Bank. The program is dedicated to improving the lives of East Texas children by providing backpacks full of kid-friendly foods that do not require refrigeration for the weekend.
