Class Lists for Next SY
It is that time of the SY to create class lists for next year. I understand how this was done in year’s past amongst grade level teams. Please continue with that practice. Here are some focal points when creating a balanced class list:
Take into consideration Fountas and Pinnell levels to ensure there is a balance of students that would create an appropriate number of students in each reading group.
Use your MAP data from the Spring assessment to ensure heterogeneous grouping in each classroom.
Be sure to communicate with the Child Study Team (CST) about IEP placements (i.e. – In-class resource).
Balance the number of males and females in each classroom.
Take into consideration students’ learning styles and academic behavior.
