Chromebook Updates
We will offer rising Freshmen the opportunity to pick up their new Chromebooks in the Main Office area during the week of August 22 to 25, from 8:00am to 1:00pm. Students will need to bring in their current Chromebook AND charger in order to exchange. Any student who cannot exchange during that week will have to exchange during the first week of school. Chromebooks and chargers for the 10th to 12th grade students who are new to the district will be distributed during building tours and/or the first day of school.
Supply Lists
All students should bring a pen or pencil and paper to write on for the first day of school; Teachers will share a supply list in the first class meeting.
Free Backpacks
The Montgomery County Early Learning Resource Center is distributing free backpacks to families in need. Please review the attached flyers for additional details. Supplies are limited. Mochilas gratis Free backpacks
School Information Portal
The Back to School Gateway is now open and ready for your information. Back to School Gateway allows you to quickly and easily review and update your student's information for the 2022-2023 school year, including transportation, health services, and emergency contact information. AP Psychology for the 2022-2023 School Year
If you’ve registered for AP Psychology, please check your student email for an invitation to join your Google classroom. Here you will find a brief summer assignment. AP Computer Science A Summer Work
The purpose of summer coursework for AP Computer Science A is to give you a head start on what you will need to be successful in the course. Create an account at www.codecademy.com and work through the sections below in the Learn Java course before the start of the school year. Email your CodeCademy profile name (the username with the @ in front of it) to kathleen_whittaker@sdst.org with the subject CSA Summer Work.

Summer Reading
Students taking any level of high school English are required to complete a summer reading assignment. Summer reading lists will be sent home with student report cards. These lists and additional note taking materials are also posted here. Parents should review book options with their students to help them choose an appropriate book to read before the start of the 2022-2023 school year. All students enrolled in AP Language and Composition should email Mrs. Ward at Kristin_Ward@sdst.org with any questions. All students enrolled in AP Literature and Composition should email Mrs. McCaslin at Jennifer_McCaslin@sdst.org with any questions.
Summer Math
All students are required to complete a summer math packet prior to the start of class in September. These packets will be assessed during the first week of school. The math packets and additional resources can be found on this Summer Math link. Any questions regarding the packets should be directed to Mr. McCaslin at corey_mccaslin@sdst.org. All students enrolled in AP Calculus AB/BC, AP calculus BC, and Multivariable Calculus, should refer to Mr. Malossini's website for any summer practice assignment. Send Mr Malossini an email if you have any questions at max_malossini@sdst.org. There are no packets for AP Statistics and/or Academic Statistics.

Student Schedules and Counselor Meetings for Summer
Student schedules were distributed to all high school students prior to the end of the school year. Students should review their schedules to ensure everything is correct. Please keep in mind that every effort was made to include first choice electives in student schedules. To request an appointment to change your schedule via Zoom, please follow the link for your counselor and sign up for an open time slot. Once you sign up, you will receive a confirmation with a Zoom link. Each counselor’s summer availability is listed below:

ATHLETIC UPDATE
Kedar M. jumps to All-American status at the AAU Junior Olympic Games
STHS incoming 9th grader, Kedar M. received his first All-American status in track and field on Monday, August 1st at the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro, NC at North Carolina A&T University where over 13,000 athletes from around the nation qualify in the top of their region to compete in their respective events. Kedar finished eighth in the 14 year-old boys Pole Vault event by jumping 9’6”. Along with this honor, Kedar jumped to a new personal record and came home with a medal for his accomplishment!

Online Ticketing
Skip the lines, online ticketing is here! Springfield Township High School is making the transition to digital ticketing starting with the 2022 Football Season. In order to attend a Spartan Football Game, spectators must purchase a ticket online, available on our school website, prior to the game. Spectators will have the option to print their tickets or bring the digital copy with them on their smartphone. Our ticketing staff will be able to scan your ticket at the gate, allowing you faster access to our contests!

PIAA Physicals will not be accepted for the Fall season after September 2nd. If you haven’t turned in an updated PIAA Physical, do so as soon as possible. Student-athletes are not permitted to participate in any team activities without an updated physical. Once you have completed your PIAA Physical, please return it to the Athletic Department with attention to Joe Ferraro. Summer ImPact Testing - REMEMBER YOUR CHROMEBOOK!
ImPact Testing is a computer based test that we use to gather cognitive baseline information on every student athlete. This information is used as a comparative tool if a student athlete is suspected of having sustained a concussion. We require all incoming freshmen and new athletes to complete the baseline test, and require retesting every two years. Athletes that do not have an updated ImPact Baseline will not be permitted to participate until it has been completed.
The following dates are scheduled for student-athletes to take an ImPact Test (Please remember to bring your Chromebook to testing):
