DeLisle Digest
Parent Newsletter- September 2022
First 28 Days
We have had a fantastic first 28 days of school at DES, Pirates! We have spent time building social contracts in our classrooms and establishing rules and procedures. Our Houses have chosen us, and we have weekly house lunches on Fridays. We have taken our Fall I-ready diagnostic and have individualized pathways to accomplish our goals for the school year. In addition, we have raised funds for Andre with a Hat Day and a Snowball Fundraiser.
A Look Back at August
Teacher/Parent Relationships
School Status- You will receive a phone call or text message that you can save from your child's teacher to communicate back and forth through. Many important messages will be missed as a parent if you opt out and say "No" to this text message. Our school office also communicates with the entire school using school status to send important information out from the school.
Smore- You should receive a weekly Smore newsletter from your child's grade level explaining what standards and objectives will be focused on each week. This smore will include family-friendly ideas on how to support your student at home with their school work. You also receive this DES Digest through a Smore account once a month.
Powerschool-This is an app that shows your student's current grade in all subject areas and specific assignment grades.
Email-This is another way to communicate with your child's teacher as they check this daily.
Parent Conferences- We just had a Meet and Greet & then an Open House in August. You can request a conference to speak to your child's teacher at any time.
Volunteer- We love to have parent volunteers in our school. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you would like to come in and volunteer to provide extra support in the classroom.
If you need help with any of these programs or are not receiving messages please let your child's teacher know.
