All about Summer Reading!

Summer 2022

Welcome to the LAST Small Virtual Library of the 2021-22 school year! I hope you have enjoyed them as much as I have enjoyed creating them each month.

This Small Virtual Library is all about summer reading to help you stay entertained and keep your brain engaged!

Need something before we leave for summer break? Come by the library or contact me via email (you will find my contact info at the bottom of the Smore.) I would love to help you find resources for summer reading or answer any questions you might have!

Be sure you check the ebook info page for how to access books ALL SUMMER and the Sora usernames and passwords.

General Summer Reading Info

Why should we read over the summer?

What "they" say: Studies show that students who participated in summer reading programs also demonstrated higher reading achievement than students who did not participate. The study suggests that children who participate in summer reading programs increased their reading skills, motivation, confidence, and enjoyment.

What you need to know: reading SHOULD be an enjoyable way for you to be entertained while engaging your brain in ways that video games, TV, movies, videos (I'm looking at you TikTok and YouTube), even audio books, cannot. If you're not enjoying reading, you haven't found the right book. You don't have to follow a program or read for prizes, just READ!
