Third Grade News
Week of September 28th
Butterfly Release - Thank you to everyone that came to our butterfly release last Monday! I hope everyone was able to see our pictures and short story on the Madison Courier (a link is provided below in case you didn't)!
Vision Screening - A note was sent home with your child's vision testing information.
Parent Read Aloud - If you are interested in reading a book to our class, please let me know! I would love to have at least one parent per month come read their favorite children's book or book to go along with something we are learning.
Parent Teacher Conferences - I am still needing a few more conference forms to be turned in so I can schedule conferences. The staff is working together so that if you have more than one child here, their times will be close together. I will be sending home your confirmed time once I have received all forms.
What We're Learning This Week

*We will be doing STAR testing this week for Reading and Math. Every child must show at least a year's growth. They took these tests at the beginning of the year so this time around they should get a score a little bit higher. We will continue to take these tests throughout the year to check for progress.
John stirring the ingredeints to make chapati
Chapati is an African flat bread that we read about in our story from last week. The family I lived with in Kenya had taught me how to make it and it was one of my favorite things to eat!
