Principal's Message

Dear Field Families,

Hello everyone!

Have you met our new Library Coordinator, Ms. Lahey? She is in our library on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-2:00. She is working on reorganization first and will be open for students in February. Please stop by and say hello.

Our next PTA meeting is on January 21, 2016, at 6:00pm. We will have a special guest from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music at this meeting. It is also time to create the Nomination Committee who will recruit for the 2016-2017 PTA Board.

We just received a large order of leveled books written in Simplified Chinese thanks to the support from our Annual Fund. As soon as they are stamped and sorted, they will be in the Mandarin Language Arts classrooms. This will be a tremendous help to our students as they build their literacy skills.

We have some holidays coming up. There is no school on Monday, January 18, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr; Friday, February 12, and Monday, February 15, in honor of President Lincoln and Presidents' Day; Spring Break is March 14 -18; and finally a staff development day is on March 31.

Our after-school LEARNs program will have their Showcase on Thursday. I hope you will be able to attend. It will be our first student performance in our newly refurbished Multipurpose Room.

Thank you all for following our rainy day procedures last week. It was quite a week!
