Let me start off by introducing myself.

My name is Kristi Moore and I have a Master's in Special Education from FSU. For the past two years I worked at an elementary school in Winter Garden/Windermere as a 3rd grade inclusion teacher. I absolutely love what I do and am so excited to start this school year!

Usernames and logins are going home the week of September 28th! Check your child's planner asap! In most cases the username AND password is first name last name in this format- nancymyers or nancymyers1 if the username ID was already taken.

I'll be tracking how long students are on at night, how many lessons they complete, and how many passages they do for in school awards. Happy reading!

Learning math facts

1) Make flashcards with your child if I have not provided them from the Resource Room.

2) Study flashcards often! Children will forget their math facts unless they practice on multiple occasions.

3) Use a strategy called "Folding In" with the flashcards... Here's what you do... If you have a stack of 30 flashcards to master, start with helping your child master 3 of the cards than fold-in a 4th card until mastery... then a 5th until mastery.... a 6th .... and so on! Before you know it, your son or daughter will know the whole set of flashcards!
