Meth is a synthetic drug that lasts longer than amphetamine. It is illegally used as a prescription drug for narcolepsy and to help maintain your blood pressure.

Well, how do you take it?

You can snort it (inhaling through the nose), smoking it, or injecting it with a needle. Some even take this drug orally.

How does meth affect the body?

Short term effects:

*Loss of appetite

*Disturbed sleep patterns

*Dilated pupils

*Nausea

*Bizzare or violent behavior

*Hallucinations

*Panic and/or psychosis

*Seizures and death of OD (over dose)

Long term effects?

Long term effects:

*High blood pressure; permanent damage to heart and brain, leading to heart attacks, strokes and death.

*Liver, lung and kidney damage.

*If sniffed, you can damage the tissues in your nose.

*Breathing problems if smoked.

*Infectious diseases if injected.

*Malnutrition

*Depression

*Damage to brain similar to Alzheimer's disease, stroke and epilepsy.

Meth users take it to feel a physical rush.

Some users swallow or snort meth to just get a rush of energy to preform a task or activity. Binge users inject or smoke it. They do this to feel a more phschological high. "Speed freaks", or high intense users just use to keep the rush going. They are scared that they will "crash". That is how addiction occurs.
