DFES Magnet Open House
Our district magnet window open in January. This is time that parents will have an opportunity to visit prospective magnet schools to learn more about respective programs. All magnet schools are expected and are responsible for hosting a magnet open house in January.
Our magnet open house is scheduled for Monday, January 14th. Each grade level, our interventionists, related areas, and SPED are expected to be in attendance. At your respective tables you should prepare to share with respective families what learning looks, sounds, and feels like at DFES. You can bring artifacts, examples of student work, hands on engagements, etc. Further details to come but wanted to be sure this is on our radar.
We also anticipate prospective families visiting us prior to and after our magnet open house. As such it is our expectation that our walls outside of classrooms give perspective families an idea of the learning that takes place in each room.
By January 11th please be sure that hallway displays are up to date, display authentic student learning, and includes the accompanying state standard or an explanation of the work. If your team has completed the magnet school certification requirements tomorrow (3:15-4:15) would be a good use of your time to make necessary updates.
