Calling All Job & Internship Seekers!
Recruiting is in full swing during the month of February with career fairs, information sessions, and on-campus interviews filling up the calendar. Students seeking jobs and summer internships should jump on these opportunities to meet potential employers and apply and interview for available positions. While alumni are always welcome at career fairs, it is much easier to find a job while still a student and May grads who put off their job search until summer, often regret that decision (See more on job search procrastination).
The STEM Career Expo (formerly known as Engineering and Technical Expo) will host nearly 100 employers who are seeking employees in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics sectors. The Auburn University Career Fair will also host nearly 100 employers and is targeted to students of all major and employers of all industries. Students of all majors are welcome to attend either event. Students can view a list participating employers on the Career Center website and in Tiger Recruiting Link (TRL). Download the free AU Career Fair+ app for Android and iOS devices to view a floorplan and read employer bios.
Alumni are always welcome at career fairs, but it is much easier to find a job while still in school. May grads who put off their job search until summer, often wish they had begun the process earlier. (See more on job search procrastination)

Nominate Your Outstanding Supervisor
Students who work part-time jobs at Auburn University and in the Auburn/Opelika communities contribute significantly to their employers, and each year the Career Center seeks to recognize top student workers during National Student Employment Week in April. For the second year, we also want to recognize the best supervisors as nominated by their student employees. Nominations for both Student Employee of the Year and Supervisor of the Year are due Tuesday, February 5th. Nominate HERE. Awards will be presented to the top on-campus and off-campus student employees and supervisors at a reception in April.

The New & Improved TRL
Users of Tiger Recruiting Link (TRL), Auburn University’s online job database, noticed an updated student interface in January. Changes to the interface included the addition of a “Super Search” bar and the repositioning of the main navigation bar from the top of the screen to the left hand side. These changes make using TRL on mobile devices much easier. Positions are posted in TRL throughout the year and all students are strongly encouraged to maintain an updated profile and resume in the system. Visit www.jobs.auburn.edu to access and update your student account.
Internship & Part-Time Job Fair Recap
On January 27, the Career Center hosted 44 organizations and 359 students at the Internship and Part-Time Job Fair. Held the in Student Center Ballroom, the event allowed students and employers to discuss internship and part-time employment opportunities in a relaxed environment. “We met many qualified candidates for the positions we are seeking to fill. We believe the fair played a vital role in the recruitment of students to join the Auburn Youth Programs team! We will definitely participate in the fair again in the future,” said Brook Barrow, a representative of Auburn University Youth Programs with the Office of Professional and Continuing Education. Julie Starling, from Five Guys Burgers and Fries of South Alabama said, “I am so pleased with the professionalism of the Internship and Part time Job Fair. Not only did I get a chance to find excellent students for employees at our Five Guys store but I also had the opportunity to network with other businesses and vendors.” Thank you to all of the participating organizations and to the students for attending.
