Joan of arc
Joan was born on January 6th 1412. She was born in the little village of Domremy in the Eastern part of France known as lorranie.
Who was Joan of arc?
Joan of arc was a young women who led the armies of France to several key victories over the English durning the hundred years war. She was a great hero to the French, but was hated by the English who ultimatley captured her and had her burned at the stake for heresy. Many people described her as good, simple and sweet. What is memorable about her?
Joan had clamied to have heard voices at the age of 13 which she said had come from the saints, giving her wisdom from the gods.Whatever the source of her knowlage, she was uncannily wise beyond her years and she might of led France to greater and greater victories if she had not been captured by her nation's enemies. Under her trial as a heritic, her prophetic gift was turned against her as evidence that she was doing the devils work, not gods. At the age of only 17 she was put in command of the French army, and was the youngest to ever lead a nation's army. She helped the French win thebattles of Paytay and Orleans. A great qoute from joan was " I am not afraid..I was born to do this."
She was the first women to command French troops. She helped lead the French to victory in many battles during the hundred years war.

John was born in Oxford around Christmas in 1167. His nicknames were John Lackland and John softsword. He was very short tempored and greedy.
Who was king john?
- King John raised the taxes(which Barons paid most of).
- He made the Barons serve in his army or pay money.
- King John made the English Barons who owned land in France give it up.
- He imprisoned the Barons who he thought were annoying or would make them pay heavy fines.
- The Barons thought that King John had killed his nephew Arthur.

Who was William the conqueror?
At age 8, William the Conqueror became the Duke of Normandy. Violence plagued his early reign, but with the help of King Henry I of France, William managed to survive the early years. After the Battle of Hastings in 1066, he was crowned King of England. He never spoke English and was illiterate, but he had more influence on the evolution of the English language then anyone before or since.
