The Week in Review
This past week we began to familiarize ourselves with some new methods and content. We began using Discovery Education this week, our online techbook resource, and we learned about food chains and the roles that producers, consumers, and decomposers play in that ecosystem.
In Social Studies, we divided the state regions amongst our teams and they spent the week researching and creating their products to display that information. It could be anything! I have seen lots of brochure, newsletter, flipbook, poster, and more being created and we will share those with the rest of the class on Monday! Be sure to check in with your learner to see if they have completed their product and encourage them to finish it by Monday!
Discovery Education
I told the kids that they are encouraged to get on at home and explore all that Discovery Ed has to offer. I only ask that they save their assignments I give them for class time, until things are passed due...then, by all means, please finish the assignment at home.
There are plenty of neat things to check out on the site so please head on over and take a look!
***Also encourage your learner to finish any of their Discovery Education assignments they missed this week! They are homework if not finished.***
On Deck: Science & Social Studies
In Social Studies, our learners will share their knowledge on the regions of Texas on Monday, and learn about some of the earliest inhabitants of Texas for the next few weeks!
