A place for living things
Interior
The earth is made up of many layers, the center being a solid core, followed by a liquid outer core, the mantle, and the crust (The land we live and walk on). The inside of the earth is what makes up its density, which also factors into the livable gravitational pull of the earth.
Plate Techtonics
The crust of the earth is divided into many different sections, or plates. These plate shift, move, and slide on top of the mantle of the earth. Along the edges of these plates, where one meets the other, there can be natural occurrences such as earthquakes, mountain formations, and volcanoes.
Earths Atmosphere
Our atmosphere consists of 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen (Which we breath), with the small leftover percentage being water vapor, carbon dioxide, and ozone. There are also 5 layers to our atmosphere, starting closest to earth: Troposphere, stratosphere, Ozone, Mesosphere, and Thermosphere.
Magnetic Field
Earth has a magnetic field similar to that of a bar magnet, with north and south ends. The magnetic and geographic north do not match up, the geographic north is the magnetic south, which is why a compass points north.
