Colleton Adult Learning Center Success Story
Ms. Henrica Cox first enrolled at Colleton Adult Learning Center, or CALC, in August of 2005.
Life with all of it’s twists and turns would pull Henrica away, and in August 2021, she would
reenroll at CALC. Ms. Cox was inducted into the National Adult Education Honor Society and
became an Ambassador for adult education and CALC. During her time at CALC she was
awarded the Secondary Superintendent Student of the Month Award for Colleton County
School District and honored by the CCSD School Board.
In September of 2022 Henrica Cox made a career shift from working with youth with behavioral and emotional needs to becoming data specialist at CALC. She is a devoted daughter, mother of four, sister and woman of faith. Ms. Cox’s goal is to encourage the adult learner to earn their high school credential, move forward to their next goals in life and encourage individuals to be a
good person all along the way.
Henrica Cox, alumna of CALC, was recognized by Michael King, Director of the Office of Adult
Education, SC Department of Education at the annual Adult Education Celebrating Our Success Luncheon on October 28, 2022.

CCMS HELPS WITH FOOD DRIVE
The Walterboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority sponsored a food distribution site at the Colleton County Recreation Center earlier Tuesday, November 22nd. We were extremely excited to see that the Colleton Middle School football team and cheerleaders volunteered to assist with organizing and disseminating the items to the cars. Our students worked very hard and diligent to make sure every car received the items. They represented Colleton Middle and Colleton County School District very well.
