Principal Newsletter

From the Desk of Mrs. Riley

November 16, 2017

Dear Parents,

Thanksgiving...in our world today are we too busy to spend time really reflecting on the many gifts God has given us? Instead of thinking of Thanksgiving as the prelude or opening of the Christmas season, let us all give the coming week the attention and prayer that it fully deserves.

This year I am grateful that I am blessed with a job that I love. I give thanks for each of you and for the chance to know your children and to help them grow. Let us thank our heavenly Father for the graces he has bestowed upon us this time of year...and always.

Happy Thanksgiving to All of our School Families!

Here are some happenings and updates from school:

  • Financial Aid for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Our Lady of Good Counsel School has a new look. We are now using FACTS Grant and Aid. The application process is now open for the 2018-19 school year. Please see below for more information.
  • Our Canned Good Drive continues into next week. The class with the highest number of canned goods collected will win a pizza party. Please see below for suggested items to send into school.
  • Tomorrow is the last day to send in Optional Lunch Menus. They can be found on the school website. The Optional Lunch Program will begin on Monday, November 27, 2017.
  • Re-registration is going very well! Thank you to all of our school families who have already registered their children for the 2018-19 school year. It truly shows your commitment to partner with us in moving Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School into a new and exciting era! Please remember that the deadline to receive 50% of your registration fee is November 30, 2017. After that date, the registration fee will increase to $150. Also, please remember that all current families in PreK through Grade 8 must return a signed copy of the Tuition Policy by November 30. This policy does apply to the current school year.

Thank you for your constant support and prayers for our school. I encourage you to continue to support our work as we advance our mission to provide a transformative education steeped in academics and faith to our deserving students. There is no greater investment for forming our future saints than a Catholic education!

Please carefully review this week's newsletter for many reminders and updates. We thank you for entrusting your children to us and for the sacrifices you make each day to send your child(ren) to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School.

God's Peace,

Mrs. Barbara Riley

Principal

"Virtue of the Month"

Be thankful for God himself. A love of God and gratitude for his gifts leads us to a happy life. If our students or teachers see someone being grateful on any given day, they take the time to fill out a virtue slip for them. The winners will be announced at our next Community Homeroom.
