EV Staff News
October 23, 2017
The events of the past two weeks have given us an opportunity for reflection and gratitude. All of us have been touched and many changed by the fires we experienced. The depths of the unknown and fear we lived in for two weeks made me take stock in what is important. The well-being of family and the people around us supercedes any material goods one possesses. When faced with what to take as you leave your home... nothing really matters expect for the ones you love.
The children that come to us everyday look to us for stability, love and learning. Their little faces reminded me everyday of what is important to me in my work and life.
Be kind and gentle to yourselves and your colleagues. We all experienced an unprecedented event that has profound affects. We might be a little distracted or short tempered. Take a deep breathe and be present. If you need a break let me know.
Be well and stay safe. Thank you for what you do everyday.

EV Steps Up
This is the thank you I posted on FB.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have helped and continue to help our Valley. On Tuesday and Wednesday last week EV was able to help 1000 community members with masks, water, food and clothing. We would like to thank the following people and organizations who made that possible.
Special thanks to: Mike Zakowski owner of The Bejkar (The Baker) who donated bags and bags of delicious Artisan bread, Aaron Brumley and his team – cooked up fajitas for 60+, Girl in the Fig for the many box lunches and the Ladies from Apple Hill for the apples, pies, brand new blankets, toys etc…
