Weekly Staff Updates
NBHS ALL IN
Principal Notes for the Week of: 10/15-10/19
I want to begin by saying how impressed I have been with the cooperative learning strategies being used in the classroom. It is amazing the amount of work and the deep conversations students have when they have the ability to discuss content, that is lead by high expectations placed on them by you all. Keep it up! On a second note, the technology being used to support student learning has increased this year in a tremendous way. Technology is certainly not going away, so we have to continue to use it to raise the rigor, provide relevance, and create real-world connections. We are certainly doing that more and more at NBHS...You ALL should be proud.
I have included or ACT scores for all students that took the ACT over the past few years. If you could go back and see our scores five years ago, you would see that they were not nearly as impressive. We have came a long ways! Also I have included a document on how our Nichols students scored on their overall assessments from last year. We are doing some really great things thanks to your hard-work.
Reminder that the week of October 22nd-26th is parent contact week. Please be sure to contact any parent of a student that has an F in your classes. Be sure that you document your conversations. You can email or make a phone call. I would also encourage you to make a couple positive phone calls each week. The positive phone calls are a proactive way to connect to parents about their students learning. If you see a student doing a kind act please fill out a "Pawsitively Good Deeds" card and send them to the office. We need to recognize the positive things we are seeing.
