Message from Dr. Epperson
Our students worked really hard this week and our staff is so proud of them! I want to thank Community Education Outreach for serving our teachers breakfast this week. We are always thankful for such an awesome community of supporters.
If your current 6th or 7th grade student will not be returning to CMS next year, please email Tina Stringfellow at tstringfellow@mckinneyisd.net
Have a wonderful weekend!

Yearbook News
Yearbooks will be distributed on Monday, May 20th. We will have signing parties for each grade level. Students should bring yearbooks back to school on their assigned day. If students didn't purchase a yearbook, they can bring a journal or paper to collect signatures from friends. Students may also bring an extra shirt for signatures. We ask that students not sign shirts that are being worn or skin.
We will have a few extras on sale Tuesday, May 21st for $40 payable cash or check made out to CMS. They will be available in Mrs. Spinnato's classroom, E123. They are first come, first serve while supplies last.
6th Grade: Tuesday, May 28th
7th grade: Wednesday, May 29th
8th grade: Wednesday, May 29th
News from the Cafeteria
Friday May 17th will be the last day students will be able to charge a meal. Beginning Monday, May 20th, students will either need to have money in their school nutrition account or cash in hand to make any cafeteria purchases. If they do not have sufficient funds or they have a negative balance, a courtesy meal will be made available to them at no charge for that day. Additionally, the guardian on record under each student’s account has been made aware through automated systems if they have insufficient funds to make cafeteria purchases.

MISD Registration Nights for RETURNING STUDENTS
MISD will be hosting two evenings where parents can register their RETURNING students for the 2019-20 school year. Computers and registrars will be available to assist with this process. Please bring with you a current Proof of Residence and your “snap code” that you will receive via email the week of July 8.
** These evenings are ONLY for students who completed the 2018-19 school year at MISD. Any students new to McKinney ISD should consult the website for New Student registration dates.https://www.mckinneyisd.net/enrollment/2019-20-new-student-enrollment/
Tuesday, July 16th 6:00 – 8:00 pm
Tuesday, July 30th 6:00 – 8:00 pm
These evening events will be held at Faubion Middle School, 2000 Rollins Street McKinney, TX 75069.Yearly Proof of Residency
In McKinney ISD it is very important that we work to make sure that students are attending school in the appropriate attendance zone, understanding that it can be confusing. In order to accomplish this, we are requiring you provide proof of residence annually to your student's school upon enrollment. Acceptable proof of residence is one of the following:
A copy of a current or previous month utility bill (electric, gas, water) which shows the current usage on it.
A current lease (for 30 days until a utility bill is available). The lease must have the move in date clearly stated.
If you are under contract to purchase a home, a copy of the signed dated contract with the closing date is clearly stated. If the closing date is after September 1 of the current school year, monthly tuition payments shall be made until the closing date per MISD Board Policy.
If you have recently purchased your home, a copy of the closing papers will suffice until a utility bill is available (within 30 days).
If you are living with a relative or friend within the MISD attendance boundaries, an affidavit must be completed and notarized at the school as well as submitting a current utility bill.
Notes from the Nurse
Please remember to pick up any medication and/or supplies that your student has stored in the clinic at CMS.
All medicine/supplies must be picked up by the end of the last school day, May 30.
Nothing will be kept in the clinic over the summer.
Anything not picked up by the end of the day on May 30 will be destroyed.
We will give you all the forms you will need for next year when you pick up your stuff.
Thanks.
