Weekly Newsletter
March 23, 2020
From the Director
Dear CDS Community,
I hope all of you have a safe and restful spring break!
Students---please take some time away from your screens this week----seriously----after the last several weeks of e-learning you really need it! Enjoy the sunshine and beautiful spring weather. Although we must continue to social distance, we can still take walks in the park, go for bike rides around Cheongna, and maybe even go hiking with our families! Give your eyes and brains a break this week!
You may remember that before winter break the librarians put out a survey, and now they have acted on your suggestions. When students return from the long campus closure, the library will be transformed into a space much more conducive to learning. Thank you for sharing your voices!
I look forward to seeing you all digitally on March 30th when synchronous e-learning continues. Stay safe and enjoy yourselves!
Best regards,
Mr. Scoville

Attendance Expectations for E-Learning
Adventure Korea - Outdoor Education Trip (April 29th - May 1st)
It is very likely that our annual outdoor education trip will be canceled this year as a result of COVID-19. As of now (3/23), students are scheduled to return to campus on April 6th following Spring Break. We will reevaluate at that time and make a final decision about whether to cancel Adventure Korea.
In the meantime, we will move forward with planning the two night/three day Outdoor Education experience scheduled for April 29th - May 1st. We will be partnering again this year with Adventure Korea, an organization that has provided high quality experiential learning opportunities to several international schools in Korea over the last 18 years. Last year's trip was a big success and we expect this year to be even better!
The purpose of this program is to help students build teamwork, cooperation, collaboration, and community through outdoor challenges and activities. CDS teachers will work closely with Adventure Korea staff to ensure a safe and positive learning experience for everyone.

MHS Library Remodel!
Give Us Hope!
Students will be singing part of the song in English, Spanish, Korean, and Chinese because we want to reach as many people with this message of hope! Please encourage and support your student as they work on this project. Ms. Van Liew has synced the video recordings together so you can hear how the song will basically work. We want students to commit to this project and do their absolute best job so that when the videos are put together it will all work.
