College and Career Readiness Day
On Monday, March 18th, all of our high school students took part in a College and Career Readiness Day. Students explored post secondary options, learned about banking, social media and the impact it can have after graduation, and cultivated the tools needed to land a job. Our juniors also attended a National College Fair at the Riverside Convention Center and our seniors had the opportunity to speak with a panel of four Gananda Alumni about life after high school and the college experience. In addition, a College and Career Fair was held at Ruben A. Cirillo High School from 6-8pm that evening for parents and students in grades 7-12 to learn about opportunities and meet with local college representatives and businesses. A total of 10 local colleges, 11 local businesses, and 3 military organizations were on hand to answer questions and discuss life after high school. We are grateful for all of the efforts by our community and staff to help make this day possible for our students!

Health and Attendance Office News
- Reminder - the school requires a request from the guardian in writing for any student to leave during the school day. An email to Mrs. Green works, or sending a note in with your student in the morning and having them drop it off to the Attendance/Health Office. If we do not have something in writing we need guardians to come in to the building and sign their student out.
- It is a NYS requirement for 9th and 11th grade students to have physicals and submit a copy to the Health Office.
- We are encouraging students to get their flu vaccine. We want to keep students and staff healthy, and help prevent the spread of flu at school! Here is a guide for parents regarding the flu.
