What We're Learning
Geological Forces was so much fun and we learned a LOT! I loved seeing our kids get so into the unit and even do research on their own. I learned a lot from them as well!
A lot of National Parks responded to our letters with our Flat Rhinos. Something similar can be done from home to learn about other parks as well. The National Park Service website is www.nps.gov.
The TeleStory projects about historical eruptions and earthquakes turned out awesome! Students can access all the videos through Canvas. If you're at school, check out our bulletin board in the intermediate hallway and scan the QR codes to watch them!
We're now moving on to our next unit - Cranial Connections - where we'll be learning all about the brain and how we think and learn. I hope students will be learning a lot about themselves throughout this unit.
If you do NOT want your child to participate in this activity, please send me an e-mail as soon as possible, and they will be allowed to go to the library during that time.
Primary students made lapbooks about earthquakes and volcanoes.
Students made TeleStory broadcasts about major historical earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
Students presented their research about the geology of a National Park.

Katy Parents of Gifted and Talented Students
At the TAGT conference, KPGT was recognized as the recipient of the “2015 Parent Group of the Gifted Award.” Such a deserving honor for our parent group!
The Katy ISD Board of Trustees will recognize KPGT at the upcoming School Board meeting on Monday, December 14, 6:30 PM, at the ESC. If you are available, please consider attending the School Board meeting to support TAGT.
Gifted Introverts and Extroverts
"Gifted children are different. Personalities are expressed in different ways in gifted children. These children who are introverts and extroverts need to be identified so they can be supported."
