"THE" Paula Deen

Paula Deen was born January 19th, 1947 in Albany, Georgia. Paula suffered from Agoraphobia after her parents died when she was 23. Married and two teenagers, paula and her family were heading to homeless, but with her last two hundred dollars she invested into her own catering company, “The Bag Lady”. It was a turn around for her and her family. Paula’s life shot up from there, from starting with a catering company, then starting a restaurant, then selling an amazing amount of cookbooks, and starring in her own cooking shows. Paula went from poverty to riches, but also being so humble about it all and being genuine and loving from the start to the end.

Paula and her famous Deviled Eggs

6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
1/3 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons shredded Cheddar
2 tablespoons salsa
1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped green onion, plus more for garnish, optional
1 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt and freshly ground black pepper


Halve eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks and add to a small bowl. Mash the yolks with a fork and stir in the mayonnaise, Cheddar, salsa, sour cream, green onion, and cumin. Add salt and pepper, to taste, and blend well.

Fill the egg whites evenly with yolk mixture and garnish with additional green onions, if desired. Arrange in a container and store, covered, in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
