A BIG National Problem is Getting BIGGER!

US physicians suffer more burnout than any other American worker (Archives of Family Medicine, 2012). In a national survey, nearly half of physicians experienced one or more symptom of burnout including loss of enthusiasm for work, feelings of cynicism, or inadequacy in personal performance. But, the health care workforce in its entirety is magnifying this problem.

Join Dr. Tom Nasca, Chief Executive Officer of the ACGME, as he shares information from the recent ACGME National Symposium on Physician Wellbeing. This discussion is relevant for all health care workers and participants are encouraged to add to the dialogue by sharing what departments and individuals are doing the foster health and wellness at UNMC.

The objectives of this session are to:

  • Discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with physician and health care provider well-being.
  • Identify programs and wellness efforts at UNMC.
