A Message from our Assistant Principal.......
Morning Drop Off and Afternoon Dismissal:
First of all, thank you so much for your patience with drop off and dismissal. I just wanted to go over a few reminders so that we can ensure that all students are getting to school and home safely everyday.
We ask that parents remain in their car. The Birmingham staff will help with unloading and loading of your students.
Please do not drop students off in the parking lot. If you choose not to stay in the car line, you will need to park in a parking spot and walk your student to the crosswalk.
Students will only be loaded in cars that are in the car line. All parents that choose to park, must walk up with their car tags to get their student.
Parents must have their car tag to pick-up their student or check their student out in the office.
Students need to be loaded into cars along the sidewalk or grassy area.
We ask that parents that choose to walk up and pick up students, wait until students are in their grade level spots.
Bear Buck$$$:
Students will begin earning Bear Bucks in the classroom, hallways, and during lunch. Bear Bucks are earned for demonstrating BEAR Expectations. Students can also earn Bear Bucks for wearing a college shirt on Think College Thursday and meeting Level Up Goals. At the end of each 9 weeks, students can shop for treasures at the BEAR store. SHOW me the MONEY!!
BEARy best wishes...

A Message from our School Counselor......
The first week of school is my favorite time of the year. I think we as educators get just as excited as the kids! It was great seeing all the familiar faces walk through the doors on Monday, as well as the many new ones. I cannot wait to see your children LEVEL UP this year!
Some of you may ask, “What does a school counselor do anyway?” Here are a few examples of how I will support students, parents, and staff this year at Birmingham.
· Guidance Classes - I will visit each classroom once a month to discuss such topics as friendship, bullying, college readiness, personal safety, study skills and conflict management. I will also assist with implementing the Wylie Way.
· Responsive Services- I will visit with students individually or in groups at the request of the parent, teacher, or the student. I am also here to consult with parents or teachers about their child/students’ academics, social concerns, or behaviors.
· Individual Planning- Students may come to me if they need assistance with goal setting, transitioning, self-esteem, etc.
· System Support- I am available for parents who may need assistance with connecting to outside agencies. This includes help with clothing, Christmas, outside counseling, etc. Do you need a few parenting tips? Then come check out one of the many wonderful books, CDs or DVDs available by companies such as Love and Logic.
I also have a counseling facebook page where I often put things we are working on in class as well upcoming events! Please like my page with the link below.

Please feel free to contact me at any time. I hope you all had a fantastic summer and are ready for the best school year ever!!
Bear Love,
Mrs. Ray
A Message from Nurse Abby.....
Welcome Back Bears!
It has been wonderful seeing all the smiling faces of your sweet kiddos! The break was great, but I love my job and I love your children.
Please remember children are not allowed to have medication in their possession, this includes prescription and over the counter (cough drops, topical creams, Tylenol, etc.). Parents are required to bring medications to the clinic and complete paperwork. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
I will begin vision and hearing screenings for Kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grade students next Tuesday, August 28th. Documentation will be sent home for children needing referral for additional testing.
**Lastly, flu season will be here before you know it. Flu shots are available now. I recommend getting your family vaccinated sooner than later.**
Please contact me if you need anything, I am here to help! Email is the best as I do not have a clinic phone while construction is ongoing.
Stay Healthy,
Nurse Abby
