This Week In Band
Beginner Band - This week is catch up week. Each student should have a minimum of 4 of the 12 major scales passed off. Students who complete all 12 major scales and chromatic will be recognized at the Spring Concert in May.
Advanced Bands - It's UIL Week for Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble! UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation is at Seguin H.S. at their Performing Arts Center.

UIL Uniform
UIL Competition Bands are 5th and 6th period band classes.
Uniform is required for all students participating in the competition.
Uniform:
• Boys - Red CHMS Band Polo, black slacks, black crew length socks, and black dress shoes.
• Ladies - Red CHMS Band Polo, black slacks, black hosiery, and closed toe black dress
shoes.
Belts are recommended but not required.

Band Fees and Payment Options
2023-2024 Band Program Fees
CISD Middle School Band Program Fee - $40 (all students)
CISD Secondary Instrument Usage Fee for school owned instruments
- $80 – Standard Instrument Fee.
- $60 – for students who qualify for reduced lunch.
- $30 – for students who qualify for free lunch.
Bassoon/Oboe Materials Fee - $100 For Oboe and Bassoon students only (reeds and consumable reed accessories).
*** Please note that the instrument usage fee is for all students who use school owned instruments. This includes advanced percussionists. Beginner percussion students are exempt from this fee.
What Instruments are school issued?
School issued instruments include Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Advanced Percussion.
Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxophones, and Trumpets are only available for students on free or reduced lunch. Inventory is very limited on these instruments.
Band Fee Payment Methods:
- Cash or check payments are accepted. Please make checks payable to CHMS Band.
- Credit Card payment may be made by using PAYK12 (TickeTracker). Payments will be received by CISD Support Services Business Center and will be forwarded to the CHMS campus bookkeeper.

The CHMS Band Polo is the uniform for all beginner band students and is the informal uniform for advanced students. Students in Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will need to also have black slacks, crew length socks, and dress shoes for more formal performances.
