A Word From Mrs. Loor
Dear Franklin Families,
We had a great time celebrating the Week of Respect. On Friday, we had a school assembly discussing our 3 school rules. We talked about what these rules look like and sound like through the day. At Franklin School, we take care of ourselves, take care of each other and take care of this place.
Please read this letter regarding Halloween carefully. It contains important information that you need to know before our Halloween parade which will take place on Monday, October 31st. There is a Google Form you need to fill out in the letter by Friday, October 28th.
As a reminder, for the safety and security of our students, parents/guardians should not enter the school to meet students for early dismissal. Parents are required to ring the bell and wait outside the Main Entrance door where their student will meet them after checking out through the Main Office.
Have a wonderful week!
With Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Loor

FROM THE NURSE'S OFFICE
Unfortunately our county’s COVID Community Level has increased from green to yellow. During periods of low community transmission (green), students and staff with COVID-19 compatible symptoms are not required to obtain a COVID test when returning to school.
During medium and high (yellow and orange) community levels, students and staff who have two or more symptoms from category A, or at least one symptom from category B, must present a negative COVID test in order to return to school.
A: At least two of the following symptoms: fever (measure or subjective), chills, rigors (shivers), myalgia (muscle aches), headache, sore throat, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, fatigue, congestion or runny nose;
OR
B: At least one of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new loss of smell, or new loss of taste.
Exclusion for illness applies to both unvaccinated AND vaccinated individuals. A negative rapid (including home tests) or PCR COVID test is acceptable for returning to school. An alternate diagnosis (including a positive strep test or influenza swab) without a negative COVID-19 test is not acceptable for ill individuals who meet COVID-19 exclusion criteria to return to school during periods of medium, high or very high community transmission.
Individuals with COVID-19 compatible symptoms who do not wish to test must remain home until at least 5 days have passed since symptom onset.
For health-related questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Zanelli, our school nurse. Her email is azanelli@summit.k12.nj.us.
