STEM RECYCLE FASHION SHOW
STEM is hosting its Inaugural Recycle Fashion Show! This year's theme is INTERGALACTIC, and this event is going to be out of this world. You will not want to miss this event.
Do you have an up-and-coming designer or a child that is always putting together amazing creations? Then this is the beginning of the year event for them. All fashion designs must include at least 50% recyclable materials; each designer will submit a portfolio and show off their actual creation in real fashion show at STEM under the blacktop cover. Start collecting those recyclable materials and let them show off their creative minds by starting on blueprint ideas. Once the registration form is filled out, the parent will receive an email from Mrs. Sikes with more details.
REGISTER for the STEM Fashion Show to be showcased on the INTERGALCTIC runway.
You must register your child through the registration Google form linked here and in the flyer.
Registration will close on August 19th.
Categories will be as follows:
Elementary: Kinder through 2nd grade
Elementary: 3rd grade -5th grade
Middle School 6-8
High School 9-12
Important Dates for this Event:
Registration must be completed by August 19th
Portfolio must be submitted by September 16th

Elementary Updates
Welcome Elementary Parents/Guardians!!
All of us at STEM are so excited to welcome you back to school. Whether you are a new member or returning member of our family, we look forward to seeing you on Thursday, August 4 at our MEET the TEACHER night. While MEET the TEACHER is a come and go event for Grades 1 - 5 from 6 -7:30 pm, our students entering Kindergarten will be given a time slot to visit their teacher. Please look for communication from our kinder teachers, Mrs. Greathouse and Ms. Machuca to schedule your visit. Make sure to visit the nurse table if you need to drop off any medications for your child. Our PE coaches will also have a table where they will be giving away free, gently used jump ropes while available. Make sure to stop by and support our PTO at their first fundraiser of the school year as they will be selling Dipping Dots for your refreshment. We encourage all of our parents to join our PTO and to be active in our parent volunteer group. Make sure to sign up as a room volunteer with your homeroom teacher.
I want to share a few reminders for the beginning of the school year. Instruction begins at 7:50 am each morning. This means that your student should be dropped off by 7:45 am so that he/she is in their seat by 7:50 am, ready for instruction. Additionally, breakfast is served from 7:30 to 7:45 am each morning. If you selected breakfast for you child, please arrive prior to 7:45 am. Kindergarten students will have a delayed start on the first day of school. We will kick off their school year with a breakfast celebration with the theme of "Walking on Sunshine". Please join us at 8:15 am to kick start the year in kinder!
Thank you all for choosing STEM as your school of choice to educate your child. Cheers to a great partnership embedded in project-based learning with a focus on STEM education while producing college and career ready graduates!
Best Regards,
Monica Elizondo, M.Ed.

Secondary Updates
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to the start of a new school year. Our summer time seems to fly by quickly. We hope you and your student are ready for fantastic school year. Our students had a good year last year academically (and in several extra-curriculars) and we are hoping to capitalize on those gains in the coming year.
Our campus will have a renewed effort on middle school math this year. Coming in to the school year please know that students will be expected to have at least 15 minutes of math homework a night (Mon-Friday). We need to get that extra practice in and we need your assistance in making that happen. In addition to core content this year there will be an opportunity each month for Coffee With the Principal. The flyer in the newsletter lays out the topics to be covered each month. As the time gets closer I look forward to working with our parents about several topics. I will send out more information on Coffee With the Principal as the date nears.
In Service to others,
Mr. Cody Griffin
