Since the begining of the war, President Woodrow Wilson didn't take sides in the war. In the fall of 1914, the British set up a naval blockade of the ports in Germany. Soezing all the goods that the country needs. In response to the British doings, the Germans ordered submarines to sink sink all Allied merchant ships. While the action of doig thhis a German U-boat torpedoed and sunk the Luisitania killing 1,198 passangers, including 128 Americans.
