Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 28th April 2023
Reception Art Workshop
It was great to have parents and grandparents of the Reception children come and join us for an Art Workshop this week. This was no ordinary workshop as the children were the teachers and did a great job of working through the art activities and modelling the techniques they have previously learnt. A very big thank you to everyone who was able to join us.
Staff have already started communicating using our new messaging service. One piece of feedback you may find useful is to make sure you go to your phone settings to enable alerts for the app. This is mentioned in the instructions we emailed but is worth noting as otherwise you may not be aware that we have sent you a message. Thank you.
Back to Basics - Year 2 Courageous Advocacy
Collection for Back to Basics
In order to help donate to the Year 2 charity, we have given each year group a food donation basket. We would greatly appreciate any donations of store cupboard foods to our chosen charity. You can bring them into school at any point next week and put your donation into your year group’s food basket. Year 2 are looking for foods such as:
Pasta, tinned chopped tomatoes, passata, herbs, spices, tins of sweetcorn, tins of kidney beans, Yorkshire pudding mix, stuffing mix, dumpling mix, stock cubes, tins of corned beef, etc.
Thank you in advance for your kind donations and for supporting our charity Back to Basics!
We will start at 5.45pm and should finish by 6.15pm. It will be great to look back on a wonderful trip and the opportunities that the children enjoyed.
Stars of the Week
At our Celebration Worship every Friday, we really enjoy 'zooming' around the classes to hear about the fabulous work and effort of our stars of the week.
Ella for becoming a super independent reader.
Alvin for super writing about our book of the week using some red words too! Well done Alvin.
Emelia for her effort and determination with her writing.

Max for making a real effort in the content and quality of his writing.

Parent Governor Vacancy
We have received one nomination for our parent governor vacancy which means we do not need to hold an election. Mrs Elizabeth Feather has kindly agreed to nomination so she can continue in the role which she has held for the past four years. We are grateful to her for continuing to serve the school in this vital way.
