Lions Park Paw Prints
Letter from the Principal
Dear Lions Park Families,
Report cards went home today! Please help your child to celebrate successes and identify areas for future growth. When discussing these things, it is most helpful to focus on the learning behaviors that lead to positive outcomes, such as writing down assignments, double-checking math work, using a variety of strategies to study for tests and quizzes (study guide, online games, flashcards), and revising/editing writing.
District 57 is partnering with the Mount Prospect Park District to build a new playground in Lions Park. We are excited about this possibility! Please plan to come to our Multipurpose Room between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. this Thursday, March 2nd. Some design options will be on display for community feedback. Feel free to invite your neighbors, even if they don't have children at Lions Park.
The America Library of Poetry is having a poetry competition. Some classes may be creating an entry during class. If your child's class is not doing this, they can submit an entry at this link.
We are looking forward to our Pawlooza performances next week. There will be shows for parents and other family members on the evening of March 1st at 5:30 p.m. for second/third grade performers and at 7:00 p.m. for fourth/fifth grade performers. Parents of students with multiple grades in their acts have been contacted separately. On March 2nd the show will be performed for the whole school. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate families at the daytime performance. We can't wait to watch our students shine as they show off their talents!
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Katie Kelly
MEDIA CLUB
I hope you enjoyed the nice long weekend! Media club made another video to highlight this upcoming short week. An orchestra visit, hallway voice level reminders, keyboard shortcuts, and weather recommendations are a few newsworthy events you will hear from our 5th grade students. Here is the link to the video.
