LOST and FOUND

We currently have 6 drawers overflowing with lost and found items. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to hold on to all of these items. We have lunch boxes, jackets, sweaters, books, binders without names, jewelry and much more. If you child has lost something please have them come check in with our front office staff. We will be cleaning out these drawers next Friday, April 1st. Parents are welcome to come look through our items, as well.

Presidential Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)

The deadline to log your student’s volunteer hours on the PVSA website is March 31 in order to qualify to receive the appropriate award. Instructions on how to log hours can be found on the Tex Hill PTSA website, www.texhillptsa.org. Please remember to include Tex Hill’s Record of Service (ROS) key code which is TQC-74636 in your student’s profile. If this ROS key code is not in the student’s profile, his or her record of service will not be visible under Tex Hill’s account. This is very important! If you have any questions, you can contact Monica Pipes, Tex Hill PTSA President, at mpipes@satx.rr.com.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENT: IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THE NURSE

According to state immunization requirements, current 6th grade students (2015-2016) who will be in the 7th grade next school year (2016-2017) must have updated immunizations to start school. Please read the attached information about the immunizations. The information is provided in English and Spanish.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENT: Lets come together for a great cause

Our National Junior Honor Society students are heading up a campus wide March of Dimes donation drive and we would love your support.

Few life events are more joyful than the birth of a child. Yet, no one anticipates a baby born prematurely or very sick and needing to spend time in a newborn intensive care unit. Sadly, for hundreds of thousands of parents in our country, that is the frightening reality.

That’s why we are raising money for March for Babies® to help the March of Dimes fund lifesaving research and programs that help more moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies. Please help us reach our goal of $2,000.

Getting started is easy. Just go to https://www.marchforbabies.org/team/texhilltigers and click “join this team” and check out our fundraising.

Students can also bring in money for the collection and deposit their donation in one of several donation boxes we have on campus. Contact Amanda Baldwin, NJHS sponsor, for more information.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENT: Farm Fresh Foods

At the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year, our Tex Hill community came together and broke ground on our own Tiger gardens thanks to PTSA and a local Eagle Scout!!! The purpose of these gardens is to encourage our students and campus to appreciate and understand the origins of some of our food and to provide an environment to our Tigers students for learning and developing a sense of local food. We have partnered with Truckin Tomato, a mobile farmers market with the hope of reinforcing this idea. Please see the attached flyer for information. Money will be donated back to the school garden with every purchase made and hopefully produce from our garden will be featured on the truck soon!!!

Need to learn more before you order veggies and more online??? Truckin Tomato will be on campus April 8 (Friday) after school to show you what they are all about ...remember with your order you are supporting your local farmer and your Tiger campus, garden and student. And a carrot from just up the road always tastes better than one shipped from hundreds of miles away!!! Purchases can be picked up at school.

Attending the NEISD Used Book Sale for all the great bargains? Truckin Tomato will be parked at Blossom Saturday, April 9. You can check out this mobile farmers market and make purchases that day.

If you have any questions please contact Melinda Cox Programs VP Hill PTSA at melmadcox@msn.com.
