Planning Meeting for Earth Day Event

An Earth Day planning meeting is scheduled right after morning carline in the Vic House for Tuesday (3/17). All are welcome to join us . For those , however, who will be busy educating young minds and other such things, feel free to email Janet your ideas and suggestions if you haven't already done so (jcanino@oakfarmschool.com). As a reminder, the Earth Day events will be held on Friday, April 24th from 3:30-6:00. Thanks!

Conference Schedule

You may find your parent teacher conference schedules on the W drive under the Calendar folder. Look for the document titled 'Whole School PT Conference Schedule March 2015." You will find the appropriate levels tabbed at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Please contact Sarah with any questions!

Feed the Teachers

Thursday & Friday of next week are going to be BUSY for you all. To make it a little less stressful, the Parent Organization - with help from the Sign-Up Genius website - has organized for a variety of appetizers to be delivered to the buildings on campus. You shouldn't have to worry about too much else to eat those days - in next week's memo I will post what food will be where so you can plan accordingly.

Conferences = school closed = childcare!

1. If you are a faculty member and have a child who will be attending childcare next week - please let me know ASAP!

2. If you are a specialist teacher, please know that I am working on the childcare supervision schedule and will let you know ASAP where & when you are needed. I am sorry for the delay in getting this to you - my main reason for the delay... see #3.

3. If you are not needed in any conferences, and are interested in supervising the faculty children for a good chunk of time during conferences, please let me know ASAP. We have "lost" Tyler's help (he has moved on to bigger & brighter things... we miss him already!) and Hattie will be in New York with the Middle School. THANK YOU!

Faculty Opportunity

Please see the below opportunity in regards to receiving a Master of Education Degree through William Howard Taft University. This opportunity would not be sponsored by Oak Farm, but would be an independent pursuit. However, it looks like a great offer that I wanted to be sure and share with all of you! Here are the details and a link to more information:

For a limited time William Howard Taft University is offering qualified Montessori Educators an opportunity to earn an accredited Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree for only $3,990.00 in total tuition*.

The 100% online, 30 semester-unit Master of Education (M.Ed.) program is designed for maximum flexibility to accommodate working professionals. Students may begin studies on the 15th of every month. There are no residency requirements, no GRE requirement, and no specific log-in times or assignment due dates. Students complete coursework and receive grades, feedback and assistance from expert faculty who are highly qualified and credentialed in the subject areas that they facilitate.

Admission to the Program requires applicants to have earned an accredited Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent), as well as current employment in education. To apply for admission simply complete the application (http://www.taft.edu/applicationForm.html). The application fee is waived for Montessori educators during this grant program. The University’s no-interest tuition payment plan is also available to Opportunity Grant recipients.

*For details visit: www.taft.edu/montessori

Please respond to this message or call us directly if you have any questions about the Program or your eligibility to enroll: 877-894-TAFT (8238) or 303-867-1155.

Event Reminders

As the end of the year approaches, please be sure to share with Macy any plans you have for classroom events, trips, overnights, etc. The sooner she knows the better in case she needs to communicate changes to the cleaning schedule or get Ben's help for set-up.

We are working on updating the "event procedure" form that used to be on the W-Drive... this is not to add more work for you, but rather to keep everyone in the loop on what is happening campus wide. Macy is thinking of having a Google Calendar with all events and bus information for next year... what do you think - would this be helpful for you?!

(Do you like how she keeps switching from third to first person in this memo?! She is a little annoying!)

In honor of the Lower Elementary Science Fair that is this week - check out this experiment...

I am grateful for YOU!
