Dear Parents / Carers,

This week has been grey and wet but in school we are thankful to be learning together still, in classrooms that have not leaked thanks to the new roof last year.

As the country begins to open up a little, it has been lovely to hear the children talk about the things they have been doing for the first time in a while such as going to a friend's house for tea, playing sports at the weekend or visiting relatives that they have missed. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can relax a little more in school. I can't wait to lead a whole school assembly indoors or have all the children outside together at playtime rather than just with those children in their bubbles.

Please help us to stay on track by sticking to all the rules we have had to have in place all this time.

Over the next couple of weeks Mrs Fitzpatrick will be putting together a portfolio of the science work we have been doing across this school year as we aim to achieve the Primary Science Quality Mark. This is a huge piece of work and I hope you have seen the improvement in science across school. If you do have any positive comments on the science we have been doing in school, please contact Mrs Fitzpatrick through the school office. It would be great to hear what your children have enjoyed doing in science both in school and as part of their home learning.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Karen Williams

Another fantastic week of learning on NUMBOTS! So many children have gone above and beyond on their maths learning at home; they should be feeling very proud. This week's certificates went to Finnbar C and Charley P in Mercury, Evie D in Venus, Harvey S in Earth and Mika S in Mars.

Reception Class Request for Socks & Tights

If you have any spare socks and/or tights your child has grown out of please would you send them in to school as spares for our Reception class. Also, if you have borrowed any please would you return them. Thank you

School Dinner Survey

Thank you to everyone, parents and pupils, who completed the school dinner survey. As we are going through them there were a number of comments made about the lack of choice of puddings. Please make your child aware that, as per the menu, there is a choice of the main pudding or fruit/yoghurt.

We will keep you updated with any changes.

Thank you.

Please can we remind you to maintain social distancing whilst on our school site, wear a face mask, follow the one way system and be respectful of others in both actions and language.

Thank you

Gardening Request

Thank you to those who have already dropped off plants. We would still be grateful If anyone else has any spare vegetable plants/seedlings (not seeds) you would like to donate to school. If you do, please could you leave them outside the school office.

We're also in need of a hose pipe as the school one is passed it's best, so if you have any connections to a company or would like to donate a hose pipe please contact the school office.

Thank you to Fields Garden Centre in Sherburn for their kind donation of 12 seed trays and compost to school which will greatly enhance our gardening club.
