Season Ends With a Overtime Loss to Osborne
Monday Night we entered the region tournament game against a team we beat a few weeks earlier in Osborne High School.
The week before Osborne we were minutes away from pulling off a upset against #4McEachern and lost a close one to Kennesaw Mountain. Entering the region tournament playing our best basketball of the season we felt good about having a great chance to
get to the state tournament. We started out the game playing with confidence and precision on both ends of the floor. Gunner Williams hit four three pointers in the first quarter to give us a 23 to 21 led heading into the 2nd. In a back and forth second quarter we went into the half up 37 to 35. The third quarter was a solid performance from our team as Ethan Reid took the driver seat running the show from the point guard slot. Ethan had some incredible plays down the stretch including two contested dunks. We entered the 4th quarter up 61 to 45. In the 4th quarter we were unable to close out the game as Osborne hit 7 three-pointers in the quarter and our late game management of time and score did not work in our favor. Osborne came all the way back and we entered into overtime all knotted up at 73. In overtime we took the early lead and extended our lead by 4 points. Unfortunately we were not able to hold on to the our lead as Osborne hit two huge three-pointers and we had some key turnovers that plagued our performance. We lost the game 87 to 84.
Gunner Williams played a terrific game scoring 26 points on the night. Gunner hit 8 3pointers in the game to continue to keep us in position to win the game. Gunner has an incredible work ethic and he will be back next year better than ever. Ethan Reid was a incredible leader down the stretch all season long as he scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out 8 assists. Ethan had a complete all around game and I cannot wait to see what he does next year. McCoy Etienne really stepped up down the stretch for us as he scored 19 points and delivered 4 assists in this contest. Chad Terrell delivered 16 points and pulled down 9 boards. Chad was a bruiser for us on both ends of the floor and he also has another year, in which I plan on seeing him grow his game even more. Freshmen Luke Dabbelt also added 8 points to the scoring realm in this game.
I have never been more proud of a group of young men. Coaches say this all the time but this group was truly a cohesive unit that believed in each other. This group of players were truly "family". This marks the 2nd straight year we lost in the region tournament in Overtime. I believe there is a bigger purpose at play and that this adversity will pay off for us next year. I have never seen a group turn around like this group. Our 2nd half of the season was remarkable and I have never had more fun as a coach. We have several returning players next season and we have the ability to be special, but the work will start soon. We will dust ourselves off and get back to work and keep pounding as we strive for greatness. We will miss our Seniors Tyler Spayde and Malcolm Brandon, but we will continue to build the wall and make this program the very best it can be. We will be back and we will keep pounding!
We are incredibly lucky to have such a awesome support system! I am blessed beyond belief to coach these guys everyday.

We are so very greatful for my good friend Chris Jackson
Youth League Coach Shout Out
Wesley Thomason
This Coach showed his kids and opponents how to win and lose with class. Wesley was more concerned in how to teach his how to play the basketball than he was winning basketball games. Wesley was a outstanding role model for everyone in the program. Wesley had 9 kids on his team and never failed to get his kids proficient playing time even if it meant his team may lose. Wesley was more concerned about teaching our kids how to be quality people and not putting pressure on them. Wesley made the game fun for his kids. It is a blessing to have him in our program.
