What It Takes To Be a Good Speaker
By: Malerie DeGrave
Voice
Voice is making sure the people who are listening can hear you. When people can not hear you they do not know what you are saying. When they don't know what you are saying they won't know what you are trying to tell them. This is why you want people to hear you.
Being Calm
When you are speaking you want to be calm. You want to be calm because when your not people can sense that you are nervous. You don't want people to know that you are nervous because if they do they will think that you don't know what you are doing.
Eye Contact
When you are speaking you want to have good eye contact. Eye contact is when you are looking at your audience and not at note cards, what you are presenting, and etc. When you don't have good eye contact with your audience they may start to ignore you a little cause they think you are ignoring them, because you are not making eye contact with them.
Speed
When you are speaking you want to have a good speed. You don't want to talk too fast or too slow. When you are speaking too fast it will be hard for your audience to understand you. When you are speaking too slow your audience will get bored because you are taking forever to speak.
Excitement
When you are speaking you want to have excitement in your voice. When you have excitement in your voice it means that you are talking with some excitement about what you are speaking about. Without excitement in your voice your audience will think that you do not like what you are speaking about. You want to be excited about what you are talking about because then you can enjoy what you are doing and not be upset or mad about it.
