#UnstoppableWS
Have you ever sat in a workshop or meeting with your team, left the meeting, and once you started talking about your next steps or what you heard-- you all heard different things!
We all have different perspectives and different experiences that lead us to a different understanding.
I asked all of you to print your frameworks because FRAMEWORKS is what we teach. That is what we are responsible for. We USE engage NY, making connections, district literacy lessons, PASS kits, etc. as a tool to help us get the job done. The thing is if you don't understand the WHY and WHAT (aka framework) we may be spinning our wheels, spending time on teaching the wrong things.
Make sure you understand the why so that you can pull that out during your teach. Many times when we are teaching lessons with objectives listed, we spend time on the objective that is the support not the main goal. We may be "hearing" different things.
This also ties to do the students understand what they are learning. Not the task or activity, but the reason for the activity.
When we use the framework as the starting place of our planning, and we make sure kids understand the why of what they are doing-I think that will get us all singing from the same hymnal.
