Snacks!
To keep hunger at bay, please observe the following guidelines when selecting snacks for school:
1. Only nutritious foods. No nut-based snacks are permitted.
2. No sweets! Pretzels, crackers, veggie pieces, cheese cubes, dried fruit, grapes, and sliced apples are examples of good choices.
3. Chips, chewy fruit snacks, cookies, and other sugary foods are not permitted.
4. The food should be in snack packaging or prepared in bite-size pieces.
5. A bottle of spill-proof water (only) may be brought each day.
Writing Notebook Collages
Last week a baggie with materials and instructions for students to create a collage went home. We will use the completed collage to cover each student's Writing Notebook.
The collages should show your child’s favorites: people, places, things, memories, activities, foods, hobbies, etc. It may include pictures and words cut from magazines or from computer clip art, as well as small photos of special people, places, or pets. No puffy items may be added; everything must lay flat!
The completed project needs to be returned by Wednesday, August 30.
Thank you for your help with this special activity!
Scholastic News
Each year we subscribe to Scholastic News magazine. This magazine is an excellent resource of nonfiction for young children. It contains high-interest articles that our students love. The cost for the year is $6.89.
Please help us out by sending in a check for $6.89, payable to Scholastic News, for your child's subscription.
Thank you so much!

*The charger needs to come to school each day, safely stowed in your child’s backpack.
