Week of 10.4.15

Home Edition

Mission Statement

Northwood Elementary School will provide higher-level learning opportunities for all students to maximize their potential in a safe, nurturing, respectful, and diverse environment.

Count Day is Wednesday

Thank you for making sure your child is at school and on time.

Brr it is getting cooler as we move into October.

Please remember to send your child(ren) in dressed for the weather. At this time of year it is a good idea to keep a zipper hoodie or sweatshirt in their backpack. We go out everyday for recess unless it is raining or the temperature is approximately 15 degrees.

Remember to label everything.

District/PTA Event 10/5: Curriculum & Assessment

The event will be held at the Board Office located at 800 Devillen, Royal Oak, Mi, 48073. I hope to see you there.

Fun Run is this week on Friday

Wow, you are doing a great job with donations. Your generosity never ceases to amaze me!

Please make sure you register your child. Click the link below to see our school status. Students benefit from the funds raised.

Parent Connect

Thanks for helping us have 100% online registration this year. Please remember to make the following changes in Parent Connect if you need to.

Changes in the following are completed by parents in parent connect:

Phone numbers

Email Addresses

Primary and Emergency Contacts (who can pick up your child from school)

The update may not be reflected for 24 hours.

You cannot change your home address in the system. You must go to the Board Office.

Please email if you have any questions. We have computers available for parents to use. Thank you.

Parking Lot Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to help in the parking lot and drop-off/pick-up areas. Please let Mrs. Ashburn know if you are interested and we will add your name to the list. Please let me know the days of the week and times you are available. With volunteers we will be able to alleviate some congestion.

Q & A

1. Why was the Fire Marshall at school last week?

The Fire Marshall came to see a Fire Drill. He notes that we did a great job getting students out of the building.
