Fall Conferences
We are fast approaching our November conferences (November 21st and 22nd) for parents, teachers, and students. During this conference, your child's "Conference Report" will be referenced. This report will focus on his/her academic achievement, strengths as a learner, and goals for future growth. The Conference Report will serve as a springboard for conversations around student learning thus far, as well as goal setting for the future.
- On Monday, November 7th at 3:35 PM your child's parent-teacher conference Sign-up Genius will go live. Should you have any special circumstances that warrant meeting during an alternative day/time, you are welcome to contact your child's teacher directly.
- As a reminder, if you have not created a Log-in for the Parent Portal, please do so ASAP. Your child's Conference Report will be accessible electronically via the Parent Portal on November 16th at 1:00 PM. Click HERE to follow the link for information on how to create a log-in.
- Attention Kindergarten Families: The kindergarten reporting process will remain the same as in past years. Paper copies will be sent home; there are no changes to the Kindergarten Reporting process.
- You will be receiving a reminder email from your child’s teacher on November 4th about the Sign-Up Genius going live on November 7th.
Upcoming Home & School Meeting
The next Home & School meeting will be held on November 10th at 9:00 AM in the All-Purpose Room. Our new superintendent, Mr. John Kopicki, will be our guest speaker. Mr. Kopicki will be discussing his vision for the Central Bucks School District, as well as answering questions.
All questions for Mr. Kopicki must be submitted ahead of time. If you have a question that you would like Mr. Kopicki to address, please send it to ghsapres@gmail.com by November 2nd, 2016. The GHSA Executive Board hopes to see you there!
Veterans' Day
The staff and students of Gayman Elementary are looking forward to observing Veterans’ Day on November 11 to honor our veterans and active military personnel. In addition to classroom presentations and discussions, we will formally observe the day in several ways:
We will continue our tradition of sending postcards to our veterans and active military personnel.
We will prepare a slide show featuring our veterans and military personnel. If you would like to include someone in this slide show, please complete the brief bio and, if possible, provide a picture(s) for the slide show.
We will hold an assembly beginning at 9:30 on Friday, Nov. 11. (Please plan to arrive for coffee starting at 9:00 a.m.) We invite any veteran or active military member to attend as our guest. Following the assembly, we invite our veterans to join us for refreshments in the school library.
Please click here to complete the Veterans' Day Participation form, and return it to school by Friday, November 4th.
Kids Care Club For November
Please join the Kids Care Club and the awesome Mike from CrossFit Summa as he teaches the kids a bit about Crossfit and nutrition on Tuesday, November 15th from 3:15 - 4:30 PM. The kids will also be able to attempt an American Ninja Warrior-like course! Come join the fun while helping the Kids Care Club raise money for a special organization. All money raised will be donated to Poverty Resolutions (povertyresolutions.org).

Kids Voting
Kids Voting USA is a nonpartisan, grassroots-driven voter education program committed to creating lifelong voting habits in children, increasing family communication about citizenship, and encouraging greater adult voter turnout.
Gayman's Kids Voting will take place in school this year on November 7, 2016. All children will have an opportunity to vote throughout the school day. The district will tally the votes and publish the results of all the schools. This is optional, so if you would like your child
to opt out, please let your teacher know.
Parent Positive - Kids & Technology: Tips For Parents In The Digital Age
Mark your calendars for the next Parent Positive session scheduled for November 1st.

The film explores the impact of cell phones, social media, video games, and internet addiction on our kids. Please click here for more information: www.screenagersmovie.com.
Screenagers will be shown in the Lenape Middle School Auditorium and will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.
Registration for this free event is encouraged but not required.
Babysitting for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade is available. Pre-registration is required if our babysitting service is needed.
The Parent Positive Speaker Series is a collaboration among Doylestown Health, CB Cares Educational Foundation, the Central Bucks School District, and the Central Bucks Family YMCA.

Notes From The Nurse
If you haven't already done so, please return your kindergarten or entry physicals and dentals, 3rd grade dentals, and 6th grade physicals to the health room as soon as possible. Also, please remember to keep a copy, you never know when you may need one or in case it gets misplaced.
A “pesky” situation, head lice, is not uncommon. Please check your child’s head weekly and call the health room if you find or suspect your child has head lice and further guidance will be given. Click here for more details on head lice.
If your child has an injury and requires a boot, ace wrap, sling, cast, crutches etc, please notify the health room. We will need written restrictions by an MD for gym class as well as recess. We do encourage our students to go outside for fresh air even when they are unable to have an active recess, unless otherwise written by the MD.
If you have not already completed the online census verification form for your student, please do so as soon as possible on Parent Portal. By signing this form, it allows us to treat your child if they become ill or injured while at school.
