School of Saint Mary FYI
April 8, 2022
Notes from Mrs. Maricle
1. Open House: Letters went home with students this week. Here is the link from the letter to RSVP for the Open House, https://forms.gle/M2pnm7pxZ57QnbYe6.
Guests are welcome to order a school lunch if they wish. Students who do not have a visitor will eat lunch with their class and then go outside for recess.
2. Development News: We are in need of more sponsors for our two school fundraisers, our annual Golf Tournament and annual Tennis Tournament. Flyers are attached below. Please contact Julie Johnston if you are interested or know someone who would like to sponsor one of the events.
3. Field Day: An email from the event chairs went out today. The letter is also attached below.
4. Teacher Appreciation Week: Our teachers and staff are the backbone of our school. Their commitment to educating and supporting the whole child is what makes Saint Mary such an amazing place. In conjunction with Home & School, I have planned a full week of food and gifts for our staff during the National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 2-6. At the end of the week, I would like to present each staff member with a basket of goodies gifted by the school families. Below is a link to signup to provide items for the baskets. Please consider signing up for items in lieu of an end of the year gift to the teacher. Items that do not HAVE to be refrigerated can be dropped off anytime to my office. Please label which staff member it is for. If you have any questions, please reach out! AND THANK YOU!
5. Cafeteria Concerns: Parents, please have a chat with your students about eating the lunch they ordered. There has been an increase of students purchasing lunch, eating one bite (usually of the dessert) and throwing the rest of the food away. This is not only wasteful but the student is not getting the nutrients needed to have a successful afternoon in the classroom.

FINANCIAL AID for the 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR
***Please see attached letter from the Diocese of Tulsa about funds available from Go for Catholic Schools. It is important that every family reads it.
We are currently receiving financial aid applications for the 2022-2023 school year. This application is for aid from St. Francis of Assisi Fund (Catholics Only) and Veritas SGO (Anyone may apply). If you want to be considered for aid from GO for Catholic Schools SGO (Anyone may apply), you must select them under institutions on the first page and add them to your application so the information is forwarded to them.
Please know that only applications that are COMPLETE (by applicant AND FACTS verification) by April 15 will be considered.
To have a complete application, ALL tax documents, including ALL schedules and additional forms must be uploaded to the FACTS system. If documents are missing, FACTS sends friendly and helpful reminders to applicants to complete their applications. These are auto generated to help everyone complete their applications timely.
If documents are missing after April 15, the application will be considered incomplete, even if the application was started prior to the deadline and the applicant will not be eligible for financial aid.
Families may begin their applications at any time after January 1.
Note: Remember it takes approximately 10 days to 2 weeks for FACTS to verify each application, therefore beginning the application process on April 15 is not enough time for FACTS to verify a complete application. We HIGHLY suggest that you have your application submitted by April 1st to give yourself time for the verification process.
Cafeteria Volunteers

At the end of each semester, those who were unable to serve the full 10 hours for whatever reason will be invoiced at $15 per missing hour.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd:We're very excited to announce that the Church of St. Mary Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will be growing in the Fall of 2022! We will be offering Level 1 (ages 3-6), Level 2 (ages 6-9), and Level 3 (ages 9-12). This Montessori-based approach fosters a child’s relationship with God through the Scripture and Liturgy. The ultimate purpose of CGS is to help a child “fall in love with God.” We are currently in the process of creating our schedule for the 2022-2023 school year. We would like to accommodate the best we can to your schedules. If you are interested in having your child(ren) in the program or know someone who is, please contact Christine Hassink at chassink@churchofsaintmary.com for a student schedule survey. Thank you!
