Can you believe it is already May? Let's finish the year strong!
Staff Appreciation Week is this week. Please help us recognize and celebrate ALL of our amazing staff at Jackson. They truly have made this year easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! Check out how you can participate on the flyer below.
Our library staff, Mrs. Davis & Miss Diana, will start iPad inspections next week. Please make sure your child brings their charged iPad every day (if they take it home). After the inspections are complete (beginning May 23), you will be able to purchase iPad insurance for the next school year.
Please take a moment to give your input on the District's Facility Master Plan. We want our Jackson Community voices heard! Click here to complete a short survey.

"Thriver" Trait: Optimism & Curiosity
Our final two Thriver Traits for this month are Curiosity and Optimism. In her book, Michelle Borba talks about the importance of becoming "out-of-the box" thinkers as well as being able to find the silver lining. She writes, "Curiosity is what helps children to be open to possibilities and motivates them to learn - both inside the classroom and beyond it." To foster creativity, consider limiting your child's screen time. Many top technology gurus worry that electronic devices are reducing curiosity. Instead of being on devices, present your children with opportunities that are open-ended and kid-driven...where they can explore and direct their own learning. In regards to optimism, Borba writes, "Optimistic kids view challenges and obstacles as temporary and able to be overcome, and so they are more likely to succeed. " At home, you can model optimistic thinking. Catch pessimistic thoughts and focus on the positive!
Are you returning for the 2022-2023 school year?
