Count your blessings and give thanks for all the wonderful people in your life.
Staff Scrip - Deadline Extended!
The holidays are a great time to say “Thank You” to all of the teachers and staff that make Rose Glen a wonderful school for our children. The Staff Scrip Holiday Gift Card Program has been so well received these last several years, we are once again offering this opportunity.
Here’s how it works:
You voluntarily make any monetary gift to the teachers/staff members of your choice on behalf of your child/family. Your gift is then combined with all the other gifts for that particular staff member, and thus “snowballed” into a larger monetary amount to purchase a Scrip Gift Card of that staff members choice. The Scrip Gift Cards will be given to the staff members just before holiday break.
To give a gift from your child(ren)/family, please complete the following steps:
- Complete the attached form listing the gift amount by the staff member you are choosing to give a gift. (NOTE: please make sure amounts are in $1 increments with a minimum of $1 per recipient).
- Send the total amount of money and the completed form in a sealed envelope to school addressed “Staff Scrip”, no later than Tuesday, November 26th
- Please make checks payable to Rose Glen PTO, and double check that all the amounts add up to the Total Gift Amount you listed on the attached form.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact: Megan Peterson at megan@megndale.com
Thank you all for your continued support, and have a wonderful holiday season!
First Grade Friendsgiving Food Drive
Dear Rose Glen Families,
This school year, first-grade students have been learning about the value of community and the different roles community members have. They have also been working hard to practice their Rose Glen “Be Statements” and spread kindness whenever and wherever they can.
This holiday season, first graders have decided to give back to their community by hosting the 1st Annual First-Grade Friendsgiving Food Drive! Between now and Friday, December 6th, please have your student(s) bring in any non-perishable food items from the wish list below. These items will be given back to our community through a donation to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. Please make sure that all donations are not past their expiration date.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to first-grade teacher Mrs. Shumaker at sshumaker@waukesha.k12.wi.us. Thanks for helping first-graders give back to their community this holiday season!

PTO News
Thank you Heidi Edwards for presenting at the PTO meeting this past Tuesday. Heidi provided a great presentation on Social/Emotional Learning. The link below is a link to the slideshow she provided. It includes not only an explanation of what the program is and how it is used in school, but some great valuable resources for parents as well. Our kids are lucky enough to have her work with them on the social/emotional learning every month!

Safe Arrival Attendance System
Pre-Excused Absences: If you know your child is going to be absent and you want to report that before the student is marked absent in school, Safe Arrival provides three convenient methods:
1. Using your mobile device, download and install the SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store (or from the links at https://go.schoolmessenger.com). The first time you use the app, select Sign Up to create your account. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
2. Use the SafeArrival website, https://go.schoolmessenger.com. The first time you use the website, select Sign Up to create your account. Select Attendance then Report an Absence.
3. Call the toll-free number 1-866-490-7371 to report an absence using the automated phone system. These options are available 24 hours/day, 7 days a week.
Future absences can be reported at any time.
Post-Excused Absences: If you were not able to report your child’s absence in advance you will be notified by the SchoolMessenger system if your child is marked absent.
You are notified of a reported absence within minutes of the reported absence.
The School Messenger app or the website will allow families to customize where they want to receive their notifications and allow them to excuse the absence right from the notification.
If you report your child’s absence in advance using the SafeArrival toll-free number, website or mobile app, you will NOT receive these notifications.
