Why is she considered an American hero?

Mercy Otis Warren was a poet, writer, and propagandist during the Revolutionary War. Mercy's husband & brother were both in politics and they had many meetings in their home, which led her to promote the Patriots cause. Mercy wrote many propagandistic plays to lead the Patriot cause and was the first woman to write for the public and not just for herself.
