PHS ENGINEERING ACADEMY/PATHWAY INFO NIGHT
5th Grade Parent Night - Save the Date!
We will be holding our 5th Grade parent night, IN PERSON this year! We are excited to connect with future Mustang families! On the flyer below families will also have the opportunity to submit any questions they may have prior to the event.
In addition, if you have any Spanish speaking families/students please encourage them to attend our Dual Language program info-session that will be held 30 minutes prior to the rest of the orientation (see flyer below for details).
PUSD’s Local Control Accountability Plan Survey
We will be gathering your input on PUSD’s Local Control Accountability Plan, or LCAP, which shapes the District’s goals and guides our budgeting priorities for the 2023-24 school year. We want to hear from you!
We will be asking everyone to answer the following question: “What supports do students need to have their most successful school experience in Poway Unified?" (this may include academic, extracurricular, safety, behavioral, social-emotional, environmental, or related to learning options)
Your responses are confidential, and you can respond with as few or as many different ideas as you’d like. After sharing your own thoughts, you’ll be asked to assign stars to the ideas shared by others to help us prioritize what's most important.

Select your language, the grade level conversation, and your child’s school; If you have children at multiple grade levels and schools, you can go back into the survey and do it again. Your feedback makes a difference! Thank you in advance for your participation. Here are some of the things we have been focusing on as a result of last year’s survey:
Parent Academy
ASES After School Clubs
LEGO ROBOTICS
READING CLUB
SEWING CLUB

Intradistrict Transfer Timeline for 2023--2024 School Year
The PUSD transfer window is open! For families who live in the Poway Unified School District (PUSD) boundaries and would like to request their student attend a PUSD school other than their school of residence, the transfer request window will open February 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year. This includes incoming siblings of current students.
Transfer requests can be made on the Poway Unified School District website. Per PUSD Board Policy 5116.1(b), the window is open each year from February 1 through March 31 for the following school year. No exceptions will be made.
Please note: Decisions on transfers are made by the Student Attendance and Discipline Office, not the schools.

It’s Not Just About Free or Reduced-Price Meals
Although school meals are now free to all students under California’s new Universal Meals Program, the application for free and reduced-price meals is still very important. School funding depends in part on the number of students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals. With all students now eating for free, fewer families are completing the application and schools are at risk of losing funds. Household income information is confidential and applying online is quick and easy. Plus, students that qualify for free or reduced-price meals may also qualify for discounts on transportation, SAT and AP tests, home internet, and college application fees. Apply online at MySchoolApps.com, or pick up a paper application in the school office.
Free School Breakfast & Lunch
All PUSD students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch meals regardless of income for the 2022-2023 school year. Meadowbrook will have breakfast available at 7:30 A.M. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 8:50 A.M. on Wednesdays. Please see the PUSD Food and Nutrition Website and School Menus for more information.
Parents/Guardians are still encouraged to complete a meal application online to receive other benefits such as a Pandemic EBT card for each child. The website to apply is www.myschoolapps.com. Please see the More than a Meal flyer for more information.
Paper meal applications are available in our front office.
