📚 Scholastic Book Fair 📚
Dear parents, whanau and caregivers.
The Scholastic Book Fair is like having a book store come into Weber School and a great idea for Christmas gifts!
Each student is given time to visit and explore the books on offer, and they can complete a student ‘wish-list' which they are able to bring home and share with you before your visit.
For parents, the Weber School Library will be open on Wednesday 9th of November between 3-5pm & during our school Athletics Day for you to check out the books on offer.
When you have selected your books we’ll give you our Weber School bank account details so you can deposit directly and we will order the books on your behalf.
We’ll also be celebrating our book fair with a colouring in competition for the kids, and a dress up as your favourite book character day on Thursday 17th November - more details coming on that soon.
We hope to see you there!
School Caretaker 🧹
Please have your CV and cover letter in by the Friday the 11th November @ 3pm.
Bridge Inspections - Starting 14th November
Beginning the week of 14.11.2022 through until 01.12.2022 Tararua Alliance will be carrying out principal bridge inspections on behalf of Tararua District Council. The attachment below shows a list of bridges, the dates expected to be done and expected delays at each bridge.
They aim to clear bridges as quickly as possible for emergency services and reduce wait times for school buses. Some of the dates may be subject to change and weather delays may mean not all bridges listed will be inspected.
They aim to not hold the buses up but there may be delays, so if buses are later than expected and these bridges are out your way not to worry.
Gift Basket Donations
This year at the Weber Christmas Market, there will be a basket of goodies up for grabs on behalf of the school. If you have any tasty treats or homemade goodies that you would like to donate to our gift basket, they will be gratefully received, please bring into the office.
😷Sick Bay Bedding. 🤕
If anyone has any spare bedding (pillowcases, sheets & duvet covers) they would like to donate to our sickbay please drop off to the office.
🐝 Weber School Working Bee 🐝
Sunday 13 November
10am - 1pm (max)
We’d love some parent help at school for a working bee on Sunday 13th Nov from 10am - 1pm (max) to build and install shelves in our brand-new greenhouse which has been kindly funded by Tararua Reap, and to help with a few other odd jobs to make our school grounds look amazing before the summer break.
What we need ...
20 lengths of 125mm x 30mm (yard timer) at least 3.6m long
BYO Tools - saws or a drop saw, nails, hammers, tape measures and levels.
Our tamariki are so excited to get into some more hands-on learning raising vegetables and natives in the new greenhouse and the shelves will be the last piece of the project.
Look out for an email and google doc and let us know if you can help and if you are able to kindly donate any of the timber needed, and bring along the tools required.
Thanks so much.
With Christmas sneaking up fast & crafts happening in the school we would be grateful if you have any:
🍏🍎YUMMY APPLE STICKERS 🍏🍎
Thank you to everyone for sending in your Yummy apple stickers. Please send any more that you have to the office as soon as possible so we can count them and send them off to exchange for sports equipment. We have sent new collection sheets home with your children so we can start collecting for next year straight away!
Many thanks, Mrs Lewis.
