The Republic of Iraq

The nation of Iraq has a large amount of history to it. It dates back to ancient time up to now. Iraq has been a nation troubled by conflict for the last 40 years. It has suffered British colonialism, war and civil war. It's form of government as of 2015 is a democracy and has a mixed market with elements of capitalism and elements of a traditional system of economy.

Internal Conflict

After the dictator of Iraq, Saddam Hussein was overthrown by the United States, the nation has had uproars in insurgencies. Generals and soldiers of Saddam's army and other citizens unhappy with the American influence have been terrorizing the people of Iraq and are fighting to chance the government's ways. This has halted a lot of Iraq's progress in the world. The largest contender of Iraq's insurgencies is the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Iraq's Economy

Iraq's economy has a lot of potential. Iraq has a lot of oil reserves and with the popular fuel and high demand, oil is worth a lot of money to developed nations. Oil is Iraq's largest export. Their export of oil shows that Iraq's economy has a lot of elements of capitalism intertwined with it's economy
