Pretty Brown Girl Grant
We have received a grant from the Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative. We will be partnering with the Pretty Brown Girl Academy to ensure the emotional well-being of Black and Brown girls in our school.
Pretty Brown Girl Academy is a virtual club designed to provide Black and Brown girls (grades 7-11) access to a culturally responsive, personalized learning environment that offers a variety of experiences, instructional approaches, and academic-support strategies led by trained PBG mentors and supported by AFSA staff. This exciting digital environment gives a healthy alternative to social media students often visit.
If you are interested in having you child participate in this unique opportunity, please email Luba Vanyo at lvanyo@afsahighschool.com More details to follow.

COVID-19 Resources for 16 and 17 Year-Olds
The Minnesota Department of Health has created a resource with information about COVID-19 vaccines for 16- and 17-year-olds.
At this time, the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is the only COVID-19 vaccine that has been studied and authorized for use by 16 and 17 year-olds. Data from Pfizer vaccine studies show the vaccine is safe and effective for this age group. Other vaccine manufacturers are also studying their vaccines in younger age groups but have not yet received authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

AFSA's 13th Annual Plant sale is coming up May 13-15!
AFSA's plant sale is the largest fundraiser the school holds each year. The profits from this sale go to support a variety of FFA activities at the school. All of the plants are grown by AFSA students in our greenhouse. We grow a wide variety of annuals, herbs, tomatoes, and peppers. There are many heirloom and hybrid varieties available.
