NYPD stings no-fault crash con
Russian Run Operation.
In the New York City area a Russian run opereration tried to heist more than $400 million. The intent was to sue, or threaten to sue the auto insurers by making false claims on injuries. In this particular operation the "ring" recruited thousands of people by promising the victims easy cash for letting them use thier auto policies.
During this operation crooked testing labs and medical supply firms were also part of the elaborate network. The recruiters made $2,000-$3,000 for every patient they brought in. There were more than 100 phony medical clinics who illegally rented out their licenses. The clinics billed auto insurances for pretend pain and treatments where patients were prescribed the same treatments for almost every incident.
